This privacy policy (“Policy”) describes how the personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) you may provide on the unsloppy.ai website (“Website” or “Service”) and any of its related products and services (collectively, “Services”) is collected, protected, and used. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your Personal Information and how you can access and update this information. This Policy is a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you” or “your”) and Unsloppy AI (“Operator”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By accessing and using the Website and Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Policy. This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage.
When you open the Website, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends. This data may include information such as your device’s IP address, browser type and version, operating system type and version, language preferences, the webpage you were visiting before you came to the Website and Services, pages of the Website and Services that you visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.
Information collected automatically is used only to identify potential cases of abuse and establish statistical information regarding the usage and traffic of the Website and Services. This statistical information is not aggregated in such a way that would identify any particular user of the system.
You can browse certain pages of the Website without telling us who you are or revealing any Personal Information. If, however, you wish to use the features of the Website, you will be asked to provide certain Personal Information. We receive and store any information you knowingly provide to us when you create an account, publish content, or fill any online forms on the Website. When required, this information may include the following:
If you link your Google account, we also receive information from that service (typically your name, email, and profile image). The information we receive depends on your Google account settings and their privacy policies.
Any of the information we collect from you may be used for the following purposes:
Processing your Personal Information depends on how you interact with the Website and Services, where you are located, and whether one of the following lawful bases applies: (i) you have given consent for one or more specific purposes; (ii) processing is necessary to perform our subscription and account-management agreement with you; (iii) processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, such as tax recordkeeping or responding to a subpoena; (iv) processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating the Service, preventing abuse, and securing our infrastructure, and those interests are not overridden by your rights.
When you use AI generation features, your story context, prompts, and related metadata are sent to third-party AI model providers via OpenRouter to produce text. This is necessary to deliver the core functionality of the Service.
We do not use your stories, prompts, or generated content to train AI models. Your creative content is processed by third-party providers solely to generate the requested output. Generation requests and outputs may be temporarily logged in our systems for abuse prevention, safety monitoring, and debugging purposes and are purged within 30 days.
AI model providers may have their own data retention and processing policies. We select providers that offer API-based access where submitted content is not used for model training, but we encourage you to review the privacy policies of the specific providers used.
We do not sell your Personal Information to third parties. We may share your information with trusted service providers who assist in the operation of the Website and Services. These service providers are not authorized to use or disclose your information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or comply with legal requirements. Our current service providers include:
We will disclose any Personal Information we collect, use, or receive if required or permitted by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, and when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
We will retain and use your Personal Information for the period necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
We may use aggregated, anonymized data derived from your information after you update or delete it, but not in a manner that would identify you personally.
We use essential cookies for authentication sessions. Specifically, the Website uses session cookies to maintain your logged-in state. These cookies are necessary for the Website to function and cannot be opted out of while using the Service.
We use browser local storage for editor preferences (such as font size and writing mode) and story wizard drafts. This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not participate in ad networks or sell data to advertisers. If we introduce analytics cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and provide appropriate notice and consent mechanisms.
Some browsers incorporate a Do Not Track feature that signals to websites you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. Because we do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, the Do Not Track signal does not materially change how the Website operates. We limit our collection and use of your personal information as described throughout this Policy regardless of this setting.
You may exercise certain rights regarding your information processed by us. In particular, you have the right to:

If you subscribe to our newsletter or marketing communications, you may unsubscribe at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in each email or by updating your preferences in your account Settings. We will not share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.

However, no data transmission over the Internet or wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. While we strive to protect your Personal Information, you acknowledge that there are security and privacy limitations of the Internet which are beyond our control. By using the Website, you consent to such transfer. If any such transfer takes place, you can find out more by checking the relevant sections of this Policy or by contacting us.
The Website and Services contain links to other resources that are not owned or controlled by us. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other resources or third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of each and every resource that may collect Personal Information.
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time, effective upon posting of an updated version on the Website. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the top of this page. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Website and Services after the effective date of the revised Policy will constitute your consent to those changes.
